Zbigniew Preisener really is one of the greatest film composers of the modern era, but his work for the great, late Krzysztof Kieslowski stands out as not only his most well known, but also his finest work. On 'Three Colours: Bleu" Preisner's work takes a central role in the narrative of the film itself, and as a result the score is more weighty and substantial than the other two films in the series, 'Red' and 'White'. From the operatic arrangements of "Van Den Budenmayer" to the more traditionally cinematic mood-pieces, it's a soundtrack that's long been on our wish list for a vinyl reissue and this handsome edition does the job nicely.
