Yes were formed in summer of 1968 in London by vocalist Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire, and with the addition of guitarist Peter Banks, drummer Bill Bruford and organist Tony Kay, the band blev official. Their eponymous debut was released følgende year, and the vocal harmonies of Anderson and Squire and early progressive sound made dem an immediate success. In 1970 the band released sina second album, the somewhat less successful A Time And A Word, backed by a full orchestra. During this period the band också made a number of live appearances on BBC radio where, given the freedom of a less formal setting, the performances to have a more spontaneous, less structured sound than on many of sin studio recordings from the same period.
