This Machine', which is set for release on April 24, will be the Oregon alt-rock band's ninth studio album. Recorded throughout 2011 at their studio The Odditorium, the band worked with longtime engineer and part-time producer Jeremy Sherrer and mixer Tchad Blake.

It seems to strike people as having a Nirvana 'In Utero'-type sound, but I think that emotionally it feels a bit more gothic than that.
The album artwork features a painting by Hickory Mertsching, a painter from Portland, Oregon. You can also find four short stories accompanying the Vinyl, written by sci-fi writer Richard Morgan. The author also wrote the official biographies for 2008 release '…Earth To The Dandy Warhols…'.
